Thanks for sharing this Dea! I actually have been having my bare feet on the dirt and grass yesterday and today…but your writing about using my heels instead of toes and all that was awesome! I forget sometimes, lol…thanks again🫶✌️🤘

Bare feet on grass AND reading the heel memo in the same week? Your nervous system is getting spoiled. 🔥

TheoSpirit's avatar

Yes, I surprise myself sometimes🤪I am very grateful to you and everyone with a kind heart!✌️🤘🫶☮️

The kind hearts found each other. That's how the Field works when feet are grounded. ✨

This is so good and makes so much sense. My poor feet! I’m going to take better care of how I’m using them. ✨

They've been so patient with you. Now they get to be the favourite child for a bit. 🔥

Haha yes! Hope your feet are happy and you are well 🤗✨

Heels heavy, portal open, breathing through the floor like the Taoists intended. We're all down here now. 🔥

Hi Dea

Now I know why I am (almost) always barefooted. My feet refuse the artifice of shoes and socks. As a child I was named,'barefooted indian', i find shooes and socks to be uncomfortable, not natural. As I live in Denmark🇩🇰 i have to make conecessions. But the first thing I do when home, off with the shoes and socks. They are not natural to feet, so my feet keep telling me!

Dea Devidas's avatar

Denmark in bare feet is a lifestyle commitment your ancestors are deeply impressed by. Your feet knew the assignment before anyone gave it. The rest of us are just catching up. 🔥

Hey Girl!!! How are ya?

Oh MAN THIS WAS A GREAT READ, specifically because an entire SCHOOL OF PISCES, for generations, has been SCREAMING THIS LOUDLY - take care of your fucking feet, take them out of those god-damned 4" death traps that you can also run in, find you some MF GRASS and go WALK LIKE OUR ʻAUMAKUA DID LONG PRIOR TO THE SNEAKER INDUSTRY made folks think that it is the most important thing to wear shoes....

Kanaka Maoli....yʻall know us as HAWAIʻĪANS...a HUGE PROPORTION OF US, including myself, DO NOT HAVE ARCHES, because we spent a whole LOT of our lives WITHOUT FRIKKINʻ SHOES ON.

I know, I know - it looks ugly to some folks, and plenty of folks have regarded my archless feet as being "Flintstone" like, and IDGAF - because this bitch can climb trees, walk on rocks on a hot day, and do all those horrid things, AS WELL AS the one coolest thing that no one thinks they can do because the naked Earth beneath their feet feels....ewwww....and they donʻt want dirty feet.

FOLKS, PLEASE!!

If folks paid attention to the things coming through their feet from Mother Earth herself, they would know, for sure, that the most lovely thing any human could do is kick off them 200 dollar (on sale) pair of shoes that most folks cannot pronounce the designerʻs name AND CONNECT YOURSELF WITH MOTHER.

And one favor, please ... KNOW NOW THAT IT IS NOT CALLED GROUNDING, it is simply called NO MOʻ SHOES, and is the most lovely thing in the world THAT DOES NOT NEED SOME FUCKING LABEL ATTACHED TO IT, seriously....

No, folks - you are not whatever is "EARTHING"...and you might be able to ground oneʻs self by walking barefoot on the Earth, but it is not something that needs a title - kind of like when non-Kanaka wanna call themselves "Kahuna" - no, the fuck you are not that. At all.

it is merely called being barefoot....and no one needs any kind or sort of attention paid to them because they finally took their god damned overpriced mother fucking shoes off and chose to MELD WITH MAMA

Pretty much !

I love everything that you write, lady!!! And thanks for lettinʻ me spout my shit here hahahahahahaaa

Dea Devidas's avatar

Hawaiian feet that never needed an arch because they never needed a lie. You brought the REAL ancestry into this conversation and I'm here for every unshoed, tree-climbing, rock-walking word of it.

"No moʻ shoes"… "grounding"… "earthing"… whatever the next wellness rebrand tries to call what your ʻaumakua just called TUESDAY.

And the fact that you show up here, reading, ranting, keeping it real? That's the kind of energy that makes this whole thing worth writing. Spout your shit anytime. 🔥

YES! barefoot on the earth every day - like a meal to me.

Your feet have been eating well before anyone called it a practice. Body memory doing what it's always known how to do. 💎

I love walking on grass and miss it in the winter.

Dea Devidas's avatar

Winter feet remember summer grass the way your body remembers every good thing it's ever touched. Spring is coming. 💎

Can’t believe I was lovingly moisturising my feet this morning and opened to this! Hahahahhahaha pure perfection!

Dea Devidas's avatar

The feet knew you were about to read this. They requested the moisturiser in advance. Timing like that is never an accident. 🔥

Wow. I’ve been dealing with heel pain for almost two years now, and in that time I’ve done a lot of the usual things to support and heal it, so much nervous system work, release work, movement, all of it. So reading this landed in a really interesting way for me. What it made me notice is that in all the effort to fix the pain, I may have skipped over something much simpler… just standing with it and breathing through the experience of it (on a broom stick lol)

The idea of bringing breath and awareness down into the feet was completely new to me, and it honestly shook something loose in how I’ve been thinking about it. Interestingly the pain is in both of my heels, which made me laugh a little reading this. If anything I’ve probably spent most of my life being the one who is too grounded and the one holding things steady, standing firm for everyone else. So now I’m curious what it might look like to relate to that part of my body differently instead of constantly trying to solve it. Either way, this definitely made me pause and listen a little more closely to what my feet might be trying to tell me in other ways. Thankyou

Dea Devidas's avatar

Both heels. Two years. That's a lot of standing firm.

The heels are where we land. And where we refuse to let anyone else carry us. Two heels hurting at once? That's a body asking: when do I get to stop being the floor?

You said you laughed when you read it. That's the nervous system recognizing itself before the brain catches up. Thank you for sharing this. And for being willing to listen differently. 💎
